Hey Juerg...just to clarify things...basically you're saying that 70% VO2max although in "absolute" values it is similar, in "relative" values to each athlete it could be very different and that research done with this type of calculation of work intensity in order to maintain homogenaity, really could be all over the place...interesting...and therefore assigning training at 70% VO2max for all your athletes/clients can result in them training a different intensities...I hope this makes sense...now with FACT you use a LBP - whatever for your training...now my question is...as LBP increases and approaches "race pace", do you take a less aggressive approach for your long rides ie. if LBP=155 then long rides done at LBP-10 but if LBP=175 then long rides done at LBP-20?...wouldn't that be well below the stimulus that the athlete would be able to tolerate and needs?...now another question...do you find that as LBP increases, their La- values at race pace decrease?...does their race pace HR increase?...or does race pace HR stay the same throughout the years of training...enough for this morning...hope everyone trains well today, because I can't...sick again...
