What are peoples thought on the validity of field tests for orthostatic response as a sign of "over training". Tests such as the Rusko test where the athlete takes HR while supine for a period of time than than changes to a standing position and continues taking HR.
This test would seem to be a non invasive way of measure sympathetic/parasympathetic changes that are associated with physical stress or lack or physical stress.

2nd question: If we were to measure markers of overtraining such as testosterone, cortisol or any other markers; daily from the time the athete is rested to the time they are well overtrained do we see a linear change or would there be a point where one day things are ok the next they are not.
