Very common question from our Fit Mate clients.
Making a RMR.
There are two simple versions.

a) if you like to have a RMR info on the situation, that you be be flat on your back the full 24 hours, than you test in that situation.
Be on the back and you use the RMR mask with it.
Now you have a pretty good idea on your RMR.
What you can do is to try to do some thinking at certain stages on the test and see, what influence this has on RMR for this 5 min.
b) more realistic RMR for daily calorie consumption may be to do the test in sitting position behind your computer. Than you can actually use a mouth piece, instead of a mask and can work as you test and see this way your RMR and kcal use during a work day.
If you now add:
3. a Workout circuit, than test as well with your client and you can add the additional calories used and have now a pretty good idea on daily minimal calorie intake and can plan a nutritional plan this way.
Summary : Make a RMR n back position to get your kcal for sleeping time. add a RMR in sitting for work time and add a circuit or any workout kcal use by testing it with the Fit Mate.
Now you have kcal output and now you control kcal intake.. Than find a good nutritional specialist to get a live plan.
Last but not least get a realistic goal setting.
