" Switzerland held off Russia and Norway to win a 4x10-kilometre men's cross-country World Cup relay Sunday in La Clusaz, France. The Swiss team of Toni Livers, Dario Cologna, Remo Fischer and Curdin Perl won in a combined time of one hour 42 minutes 14.6 seconds, while the Russian quartet clocked 1:42:45.4. The Norwegians were another three seconds behind. Canada's team of Devon Kershaw of Sudbury, Ont., Ivan Babikov of Canmore, Alta., Alex Harvey of St-Ferreol-les-Neiges, Que., and Toronto's Len Valjas finished ninth in 1:45:14.2. World Cup rookie Valjas led the way for Canada, but ran into trouble when he tripped in slippery conditions on the third lap. Kershaw, a two-time Olympian, skied second, posting the third fastest lap of the day, and Canada held on for a top-10 finish.
