Hello fact was wondering if you could help me with something. I have a friend who is a distance runner who has been diagnosed with mild vertigo attacks.
His CT scan was normal.
Run 70 miles a week
Has symptoms of dizziness and lightheadness
Eats a normal diet for an athlete
Does sleep a lot about 8-10 hrs
Takes Meclizine HCI 25 mg but side effects does make him drowsy.
Is concerned that medication is causing him to sleep too much and that the sleeping 8-10 hrs at a time is making his condition worse. Any thoughts or advice to help him

This is an interesting question, but as so often with this specific problems there is no way to give an answer over a phone or a forum. The case has to be assessed properly , as there can be many different reasons.
From mechanical reasons to infections reasons ( inner ear ) and so on.
Depending on the diagnosis you can get than some specific exercise or potential treatment.
He should follow up with his doctor to get on the bottom of the cause by ruling out common reasons.
Good luck
