I am looking to buy an analyzer and have been reviewing the PRO, Scout, Plus. I see that the Scout and Plus have a computer program. Does the Pro come with software? Also, I am in Colorado and California for work and in California they require the Pro to have a licensure from an MD, PHD.. Can I still purchase a Pro for my personal use and can it be shipped to California? |

There is no such requirement that you speak of in California. Anyone can order a Lactate Pro from any state. The Lactate Pro is FDA approved for OTC (over the counter) sales. That means that a doctor's prescription in not required. Furthermore, the Lactate Pro is the only lactate meter that is categorized as a WAIVED test system under CLIA, which means you can do public testing using this meter without any restrictions. We can ship to California without problems and have in fact sent hundreds to California in the past. In fact the Lactate Plus is not FDA approved and so is categorized as "Professional Use Only". You may be mixed up with that one. |

We don't ship software with the Lactate Pro. We do have software available specifically for FaCT protocol testing. This is available to purchase through the FaCT Education courses or by special arrangement if you learn the system via telephone call with Juerg. We offer free unlimited technical support for all our products via telephone and/or email. |

If you take a closer look at the various Lactate testing software on the market you will find these are of very little value. Most of these software simply use set values (2 and 4mmol/l) for the so called aerobic and anaerobic thresholds. These statistical values simply do not work as has been shown over and over again. It is similar to using 220-age to calculate max heart rate. It works in about 20% of the population but is great as an average over a large population. |
